Ola’s passion for service extends far beyond her professional career. Through her work in the welfare system, she gained firsthand insight into the challenges faced by African migrant communities in Australia—particularly women and children. This understanding inspired her to take action.

As Co-Founder of the African Women Group (AWG), Sydney, Ola helped build a powerful network dedicated to uplifting African women across the diaspora. AWG hosts an annual Dinner Dance attended by over 500 women from diverse African nations and “Friends of Africa” across Australia.

The group also delivers empowerment programs, workshops, and educational initiatives designed to strengthen women socially, emotionally, and economically. Through consistent leadership and vision, AWG has grown into a government- and NGO-funded organization, recognized for its positive impact on the community.

At 50, Ola’s legacy of advocacy and leadership continues to inspire. Her life’s work demonstrates the power of compassion, collaboration, and community-driven change.
